Lobster from Distressed Striped Wood Pieces

This is the second piece (of four) that I made with wood cut in to strips and painted and distressed.
The other day I showed my mermaid.

Here is my lobster, he is 24 1/2″ long x 12″ wide and 1″ thick.

This time I added pink and red and brown to the colours I was using for the stripes. I felt these were lobster colours in some way!

Here’s a closeup (the brown in the above photo is not quite correct, it is more reddish-brown like below):

All of my creations are available in my shop or online by contacting me through email or my facebook page.

Shop is Open and My First Walk-in Custom Order

My shop in O’Leary is now open and here are a few of the things I have for sale:
On Mother’s Day in Prince Edward Island it is tradition to have lobster since May is the opening of the lobster fishery.  The day before Mother’s Day the lady that lives next door to my shop brought me a fully cooked lobster!  (Isn’t that the coolest thing?)  Here he is sitting on my shop counter:
I had my first walk-in order from Eileen, who lives in a small community nearby.  She wanted a sign to put in her garden and she likes barn board, script fonts and beach type d├ęcor, so this is what we came up with.

She just loves it, and I do too!

Fisher Signs

A few days ago was “Setting Day” on Prince Edward Island.  This is the first day the fishers go out and set their lobster traps.

Here are some signs I made for sale in my shop:
18 1/2″ long x 3 1/2″ wide.  Distressed and available in many colours.

The men and women who venture out work very hard in tough conditions.  I hope they have a good and safe season.
